Professional associations were historically preceded by vocational guilds. Through the mergence of two most important professional associations, i.e. HO.RE.KA CR – Association of entrepreneurs in hospitality and tourism - and the National federation of hotels and restaurants of the Czech Republic, a new, modern and stronger organization The Czech Association of Hotels and Restaurants o.s. (hereinafter referred to as AHR CR) was established on 25^th October 2006 at the Hotel PYRAMIDA OREA HOTELS Prague.

WHO WE AND OUR MEMBERS ARE

We are a civil association, a vocational and non-political organization. Our membership base consists of a wide spectrum of entrepreneurs in accommodation and catering services, owners and operators of hotels, boarding houses, motels, restaurants, cafés, wine rooms, vocational schools, but also a number of companies offering their products to the accommodation or restaurant operations.

The main mission pursued by our Association is saturation – enforcing and protecting the interests and needs of our members at the national and international levels.

WHAT RESOURCES WE USE TO FULFILL OUR MISSION

We want to fulfill our mission by negotiating with the legislators of the Czech Republic and of the European Parliament, by cooperating with the state authorities at all levels and with their bodies, especially the Ministry for Regional Development and the Czech Tourism Board - CzechTourism, the Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism and media partners to enforce the legislative changes necessary for the development of entrepreneurship in the industry. Through the activity of the AHR CR regional sections within all regions of the Czech Republic, we wish to develop cooperation with the authorities at the regional, city and municipal levels in terms of their specific conditions. By pursuing activities and through cooperating with the professional organisations within the European organization HOTREC, we are determined to enforce the interests and needs of the hospitality and gastronomy industry that stretch beyond the borders of the Czech Republic.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION

to inspire its members to abide by the AHR CR Ethics Code as concerns their relationships to customers and to the general public
to strive to generate suitable external economic conditions enabling the development of the entrepreneurial activities pursued by its members and ensuring the competitiveness of the industry
by influencing the members through various forms of activities to persuade them to enhance the quality of services rendered and to maintain a good name of the industry
in coordination with the media to advertise the activities pursued by the Association along with the exemplary business activities of its members
to initiate cooperation and conclude contracts with the partners to ensure benefits for the members of the Association, for example with the collective copyright managers and additional organizations
through its presence inside working groups established in order to develop new regulations to enforce such legislative measures that will result in improvement of the business environment in the hospitality and gastronomy industry.
