RESOLUTION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC

No. 211 of 14 March 2020 on the adoption of a crisis measure

 

Following the Government Resolution No. 194 of 12 March 2020, through which the Czech Government, in accordance with Articles 5 and 6 of the Constitutional Act No. 110/1998 Coll., On the Security of the Czech Republic, enacted an emergency state applying to the territory of the Czech Republic on grounds of the health threats associated with the proven occurrence of coronavirus (referred to as SARS CoV-2) within the territory of the Czech Republic, and pursuant to § 5 items a) to e) and § 6 of the Act No. 240/2000 Coll., on Crisis Management and on Amendments to Certain Acts (Crisis Act), as amended, in order to address the ensuing crisis situation, decided to adopt crisis measures in accordance with the provisions of § 5 par. 1 item e) and § 6 par. 1 item b) of the Crisis Act.

 

 

The Czech Government hereby

I.         prohibits

  1. with effect from 6:00 am on 14 March 2020, to 6:00 am on 24 March 2020, any retail sale and sale of services in shops, excluding the following ones:

 

  • foodstuffs,
  • computer and telecommunications equipment, audio and video receivers, consumer electronics, appliances and other household products,
  • car fuels,
  • heating fuels,
  • sanitary goods, cosmetics and other chemist’s goods,
  • pharmacies and medical devices shops,
  • small pets,
  • animal feed and other supplies,
  • glasses, contact lenses and related goods,
  • newspapers and magazines,
  • tobacco products,
  • laundry and dry cleaning services,
  • sales via the Internet and other remote means, with the goods and services being predominantly sold or offered at the given facility,
  1. with effect from 6:00 am on 14 March 2020, to 6:00 am on 24 March 2020, any presence of the public in catering facilities, with the exception of establishments that do not provide services to the general public (e.g. staff catering, catering ensured by the providers of health and social services, prisons); this prohibition shall not apply to off-premises sales (such as fast-food outlets with a pick-up window or takeaway food sales without the need to physically enter the facility), which may be taking place without time limitation,

 

  1. with effect from 6:00 am on 14 March 2020, to 6:00 am on 24 March 2020, any activity of the catering facilities located within shopping centres with a sales area exceeding 5,000 square metres,

 

  1. with effect from 6:00 am on 14 March 2020, any operation of gambling rooms and casinos pursuant to Act No. 186/2016 Coll., On Gambling, as amended,

 

II.        abolishes

with effect from 6:00 am on 14 March 2020 the items I. 2. and I. 3. of the Government Resolution No. 199 of 12 March 2020.
